Plagiarism Detection & Scientific Integrity Policy

Tadabbur Journal maintains the highest standards of academic integrity. As a member of Crossref, the journal utilizes the Similarity Check service, powered by iThenticate software, to verify the originality of all submitted manuscripts before undergoing the peer-review process.

Procedures:

  1. Initial Screening: Upon submission, all manuscripts are automatically scanned against the vast iThenticate database, which includes millions of academic papers, books, and published digital content.

  2. Evaluation Criteria: The editorial board does not rely solely on the numerical "Similarity Index." Editors perform a qualitative review of the report to ensure that all citations are properly attributed and that the manuscript demonstrates genuine originality.

  3. Acceptance Threshold: Manuscripts showing an excessive similarity index exceeding [e.g., 15% or 20%], or containing extensive verbatim copying from a single source without justification, will be subject to rejection.

  4. Self-Plagiarism: The policy extends to "Self-plagiarism." Authors must clearly disclose and cite any portions of the work that have been previously published elsewhere.

Actions Taken: In instances where plagiarism is confirmed at any stage of the publication process, the journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines, which may include:

  • Requesting the author to revise and rephrase overlapping sections.

  • Formal rejection of the manuscript in cases of significant plagiarism.

  • Notifying the author's institution in severe or repetitive cases.
