Abstract
The Spiritual Directives of the Noble Qur'an Mushaf project represents a unique achievement in the field of strengthening the relationship with the Qur'an, fostering love and reverence for it, and promoting Tadabbur (contemplative reflection). Prepared by Ma'alim Al-Tadabbur Company, a non-profit organization specializing in the qualitative education of the Noble Qur'an, the project delivers contemplative spiritual directives for every verse of the Qur'an in its entirety, presented on the margins of the Qur'an to help readers connect with the meanings of the verses spiritually and behaviorally.
The project passed through eight integrated scholarly phases: building a large repository of Tadabbur materials drawn from books of Tafsir and specialist contributions; sorting and selecting according to precise criteria; refinement, articulation, and stylistic polishing; explaining rare Qur'anic vocabulary; and concluding with evaluation and peer review by a specialized scientific committee in theology, Tafsir, Qur'anic sciences, Hadith, and Arabic language. Selection criteria required that directives align with the meaning, purpose, and context of each verse; conform to the understanding of the pious predecessors; and carry a spiritual impact that motivates the reader to action. The project produced five principal outputs including printed books, a smart-phone application, and English-language translations, with future plans to develop an interactive system that receives contributions from Qur'an reflectors worldwide
