Report on a Research Paper Titled: "The Effectiveness of a Proposed Program in Developing Some Quranic Text Reflection Skills Among Secondary School Students in the Al-Baha Region"

Abstract
This study addressed the problem of neglecting contemplation (Tadabbur) in Quranic education at the secondary school level, where traditional methods focused on recitation and memorization dominate without adequate attention to the skills of reflection that represent the true purpose of Quranic learning. The researcher proceeded from the foundational importance of the Holy Quran as the primary source of Islamic culture and a comprehensive life guide, emphasizing the necessity for students to acquire and apply Quranic contemplation skills as practical behaviors across all aspects of life.
The study aimed at three main objectives: first, identifying the Quranic contemplation skills developable among secondary school students; second, designing a proposed program to develop these skills; and third, empirically examining the effectiveness of that program. The study employed two complementary approaches: a descriptive-analytical method to construct the contemplation skills checklist, and a quasi-experimental method to test program effectiveness using a two-group design (experimental and control), with pre- and post-application of assessment tools. The sample was drawn from Dar Al-Faisal Private School in the Al-Baha region and consisted of forty third-grade secondary students.
Results revealed statistically significant differences at the 0.01 level between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-test across all three dimensions of the Quranic contemplation skills assessment: personal skills of the contemplator, scientific skills of the contemplator, and practical skills in Quranic contemplation — all in favor of the experimental group. Additionally, statistically significant correlations were found among the three assessment dimensions, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed program in developing contemplation skills.
